Triumph Motorcycles is a British motorcycle manufacturer headquartered in Hinckley, Leicestershire, England. The original Triumph company was founded in 1902 in Coventry and produced motorcycles until it collapsed financially in 1983. The modern Triumph Motorcycles Ltd was established by John Bloor, a British businessman who purchased the Triumph name and assets in 1983 and invested in developing an entirely new range of motorcycles, beginning production at a purpose-built factory in Hinckley in 1991. Under Bloor's ownership, Triumph has grown to become the largest British motorcycle manufacturer and one of the leading premium motorcycle brands globally, producing over 80,000 motorcycles per year. The company remains privately held. Triumph's product range is notably broad, encompassing multiple engine configurations and riding styles. The modern classics line, including the Bonneville, Thruxton, Speed Twin, and Scrambler, draws on the brand's 1960s heritage while incorporating contemporary engineering. The Rocket 3, powered by the world's largest production motorcycle engine at 2,458cc, serves the muscle cruiser segment. The Speed Triple and Street Triple are acclaimed naked sport bikes. The Tiger range competes in the adventure touring category, with the Tiger 1200 as the flagship. The Trident 660 provides an accessible entry to the Triumph range.
